About T.A.G. Ministries, International: Helping You Develop The Attitude of Gratitude

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about T.A.G. MINISTRIES, INTERNATIONAL and our community. T.A.G. was established in Houston, TX in January 2007. We hope that after you look through our website, you will consider becoming a T.A.G. TEAM MEMBER.

T.A.G. MINISTRIES, INTERNATIONAL offers opportunities for people of all ages and walks of life who are looking to strengthen their relationship with Christ and with others.

What is Personal Ministry?

All who come to T.A.G. for personal ministry will NOT receive psychiatry nor psychology. T.A.G.'s personal ministry conviction is nouthetic in nature.

The term "nouthetic", which best describes biblical counseling, occurs in such passages as Romans 15:14 -- "I myself am convinced about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and competent to counsel one another." In that passage, the apostle was encouraging members of the Roman church to do informal, mutual counseling, something that all Christians today should learn, as well. On the other hand, the leaders of a congregation are to counsel nouthetically in a formal manner as a part of their ministry: "Now we ask you, brothers, to recognize those who labor among you, and manage you in the Lord, and counsel you."

By nouthetic, we mean that one Christian personally gives counsel to another from the Scriptures. He/she does not confront him with his/her own ideas or the ideas of others. ("ideas of others" includes psychiatry and psychology)

The counselor limits his/her counsel strictly to that which may be found in the Bible, believing that "All Scripture is breathed out by God and useful for teaching, for conviction, for correction and for disciplined training in righteousness in order to fit and fully equip the man from God for every good task." (2 Timothy 3:16,17)

The nouthetic counselor believes that all that is needed to help another person love God and his neighbor as he should, as the verse above indicates, may be found in the Bible.

At TAG, we provide personal ministry that is based on nouthetic (biblical counseling) principles.

A Ministry of Gratitude

Our online ministry is about developing The Attitude of Gratitude as we encounter every situation in our daily lives. Our T.A.G. TEAM MEMBERS are a people of faith who intertwine their lives with believers and non-believers from various denominations and ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Our internet ministry offers weekly messages that will edify the believer and strengthen their faith as well as encourage the non-believer to submit their lives to the true and living God.

Our common faith in our Lord Jesus paints the way we "do life together" and is the undercurrent of all our social interactions. We share our joys, successes and good times. We also share our hurts, disappointments and failures. Our Christian walk of faith encourages us to trust in God whatever the circumstance. As the Apostle Paul wrote, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

We Are Followers

Ultimately, Christians are merely followers of Jesus. We aspire to His teachings, we are taught by the Bible, and are daily surrendering our lives to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This is what is meant by the proclamation, "Jesus is Lord," that has become a cliché in today's lexicon. In the simplest terms, it means we allow God, in the person of Jesus, to take the driver's seat and we go along for the ride!

Popular culture is in direct conflict with this approach to life, so we find that we need a support group of fellow believers to help us on this journey. That is what our online ministry is all about. We have people in many different stages of that journey. Whether you're a seeker and not sure what you believe yet, a new believer struggling with your new identity in Christ or a veteran Christian, you'll find others here that you can connect with right where you are.

We look forward to taking the journey with you!

Online Communities

We are currently ministering on Blogspot, Multiply, Yahoo, MySpace, Tagged, Ning, Facebook, BlackPlanet and more. We have chosen these online communities because they have a populace of both believers and non-believers and are well-known by internet users. We believe that emotional healing is for both the believer and the non-believer and what better place to access those who are hurting and choose to hide or escape from their wounds by being online. Our presence on these sites is as both a ministry and as individual believers. We understand that some people do not want to communicate with a "ministry", however, they may communicate one on one with a person.

While you may not agree with some of the online communities or online groups we choose to become part of, we choose to follow Christ's example of sitting with sinners to win their souls for the Savior. You cannot evangelize a person if you don't enter their "world". And you can be in their world as long as you realize you are not of their world. Basically, that means don't lose sight of who you are while you are walking amongst non-believers. You should influence them not the other way around. So, do not be surprised when you see our ministry or one of our T.A.G. members on non-Christian online communities. We know why we are there.
